Ben got the idea for A Year From Scratch after making homemade biscuits. They were flaky, buttery, and melted in his mouth. To top it all off, they were made with ingredients he already had in his apartment. They were essentially free. When all was said and done, they didn't take much more time than if he had made them from a mix.

Why would anyone want to make something from a mix if making it from scratch is just as quick, tastes better and is easier to customize? We're not sure, but we want to make cooking from scratch as easy as possible for everyone.
